Can you provide a brief overview of your background and professional experience?
Dustin McNutt has worked as a CPA in Birmingham Alabama since 2005 and has worked with businesses of all sizes. In December of 2013 he and his brother, Darren, struck out on their own with the vision to provide unparalleled service to their clients. He focuses on helping his clients reduce taxes, improve cashflow, and maximize their profits. He partners business owners and high net-worth individuals across many industries, with a concentration in the medical space.
What motivated you to pursue a career in your field?
I have always been interested in business. In college I took the entry level accounting classes and it just “clicked”. I love solving problems and helping others reach their goals, so this is the perfect place for me. If you do what you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life!
Are there personal/ professional goals you are working towards?
I’m an eternal learner.
Each year I sit down and commit my goals to writing and part of that is always what new skills I want to learn or hone. This could be personal or professional. In the past it has been things like “learn to ride a motorcycle” and “improve my tax planning skills”. Who knows what it will be next year!
So, who am I?
I like being outside. Camping, hunting, hiking, kayaking. I love watching my son play football and lacrosse. I love spending time with my friends and family.
One thing I always tell my son is “Be a solution person, not a problem person.”
